Snow White
The Book (like the movie) That Started It All
Favorite Debut Book From an Author
Dawlyn: The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas. She hasn’t come out with any other books yet but she has confirmed that she’s writing so I’m excited to read more from her!
Krista: Also The Hate U Give By: Angie Thomas. This book is so amazing, and most definitely the best debut book I’ve ever read! I also cannot wait to read more from the amazing Angie Thomas!
Cinderella
A Diamond in the Rough
Just like Cinderella, you either didn’t expect much out of this character in the beginning, but they turned out to be a total gem.
Dawlyn: Hmmm this is a hard one but I think I’ll go with someone from a recent read: Sam Roxton from I’ve Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella. I wasn’t sure that I would like him in the beginning but I ended up loving him in the end. He’s sweet, charming, and hilarious!
Krista: I’m gonna go with Josh Wasserstein from Anna and the French Kiss and Isla and the Happily Ever After. I liked Josh when he was first introduced, but didn’t care about his character all that much. I definitely didn’t expect to love him the way I do now after finishing the series.
Aurora
A book that makes you sleep or just could not hold your attention.
Dawlyn: I’ll go with A Separate Peace by John Knowles. This book was required reading in high school and I didn’t like it at all. It’s very boring, in my opinion.
Krista: I actually fall asleep while reading a lot, but not because the book was boring, I just read a lot at night and get sleepy. The only book that I read that I actually found boring, and couldn’t keep my interest is The Time Traveler’s Wife By: Audrey Niffenegger. I hate to bring this up, because I’ve mentioned it before, but it just wasn’t for me.
Ariel
Under the Sea
A book with a water/ocean setting
Dawlyn: Quite a few of Sarah Dessen’s books take place near the beach. I’ll go with Along for the Ride for this one.
Krista: I’ll go with Keeping the Moon By: Sarah Dessen.
Belle
Beauty and the Books
Name a book with the best bookworm/book lover
Dawlyn: Liesel from The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.
Krista: Liesel is definitely the best book worm! But I’ll got with Cath from Fangirl By: Rainbow Rowell. She’s a pretty cool bookworm too.
Jasmine
The Thief and the Princess
Name a book with an unlikely love story (either in terms of romance or a book you didn’t expect to love so much)
Dawlyn: I’ve Got Your Number by: Sophie Kinsella. I definitely didn’t expect this story to go the way that I did, and I loved it!
Krista: A book I didn’t expect to love as much as I do is I’ll Give You the Sun By: Jandi Nelson. I had heard a few people mention this book before, but I went into it not knowing anything about it so I really didn’t have any expectations. I was so blown away by this book! It is now one of my all time favorites! So beautiful!
Pocahontas
The Real Life Princess
Name a book that is based on a real life person you want to read/have read
Dawlyn: The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. This book is based on a woman John knew named Esther Earl.
Krista: Is Everyone Hanging Out Wothout Me? (And Other Concerns) By: Mindy Kaling. This is Mindy Kaling’s autobiography I read a while back. I really enjoyed it, I think she’s hilarious.
Mulan
The Princess that Saved Her Country
Name the Fiercest Heroine You Know
Dawlyn: I’ll go with Katniss from The Hunger Games.
Krista: I also have to go with Katniss!
Tiana
The Princess With the Coolest and Most Diverse Crew
Name a diverse book, whether it is a diverse set of characters (like Tiana’s group of Naveen, Louis, Ray, and more) or just diverse in general
Dawlyn: The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon.
Krista: When Dimple Met Rishi By: Sandhya Menon.
Rapunzel
Let Your Longgggggg Hair Down
Name the longest book you’ve ever read
Dawlyn: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by JK Rowling.
Krista: The Count of Monte Cristo By: Alexandre Dumas. 1312 wonderful pages!
Merida
I Determine My Own Fate
A book where there is no love story/interest or isn’t needed
Dawlyn: The Road by Cormac McCarthy. This book is about a father and his son.
Krista: The Outsiders By: S.E. Hinton
Anna & Elsa
Frozen Hearts
A book in a winter/cold setting
Dawlyn: I can’t think of a book I’ve read that fits this one.
Krista: I have never read a book that takes place during winter, but one that I want to is Wintersong By: Jae-Jones. The Labyrinth is one of my favorite movies, so I have to read this!
Moana
How Far I’ll Go
A character that goes on a journey
Dawlyn: Percy Jackson from the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series.
Krista: Scarlett from Caraval By: Stephanie Gerber

Oooooo, I LOVE the Count of Monte Cristo! I don’t know that my version is quite so long though, being abridged and all.

I’m totally with you, Krista, about Josh from Perkins’ novels. I thought he was cool in Anna and the French Kiss, but I really didn’t think I was going to love him as much as I did by the end of Isla. And Dawlyn, I had a hard time coming up with a winter setting too. There are plenty of summer settings – apparently Sarah Dessen loves them and her water settings XD – but not too many winter one I could think of! Loved reading your answers, and thanks so much for doing the tag!! ❤
