Hey Bookworms! Here’s what we’ve been reading so far in September!
Dawlyn
Flame in the Mist By: Renee Ahdieh. I haven’t gotten very far in this yet but I’m definitely intrigued!
The Raven Boys By: Maggie Stiefvater. I’m about three chapters into this and I feel in my bones that this book (and series) is going to be awesome!
Krista:
Carry On by: Rainbow Rowell. I’m halfway through this book, and just adore it!! I read Fangirl earlier this year, and it’s now one of my favorite contemporaries. I have a feeling Rainbow Rowell is going to become a favorite author of mine!
Will Grayson, Will Grayson by: John Green and David Levithan. I’m not that far into this book yet, but I am enjoying it so far!
Thank you for taking the time out to read our post! Have you read any of these books? What did you think about them if you have? What are you currently reading? We would love to know!! Feel free to sound off in the comments!
Ahhh, that’s good that you’re enjoying all of your current reads so far 🙂

I just started The Raven Boys, too. I’m not quite feeling it yet but hopefully I get there.

Dawlyn: I’ve heard a lot of people who feel the same way that they feel it really picks up throughout the rest of the series!

I’m currently reading Flame in the Mist too but I haven’t got very far through it. I think I’m finding it a bit on the slow side although I want to continue reading it.

Dawlyn: Same for me! I’ve read mixed reviews but I want to continue as well!

I’m hoping it picks up because I personally think it passes for an okay book at the moment.

Dawlyn: I haven’t gotten far enough yet to even form a solid opinion yet but I do hope it picks up too!

As of now, I’m just over 130 pages in and not getting much in terms of world building or decent information. I don’t always mind slow books but I like to know the setting and I’m not quite sure of that at the moment.

I’m reading the other two books on my list and they’re currently holding my interest more than Flame in the Mist right now, especially The Raven Boys, so I’ll have to see if I can get back into it soon!

Yeah, I’ve decided to read a second book too which is The Subtle Knife by Philip Pullman. This will be one that probably takes my interest away from Flame in the Mist considering I want to have it and The Amber Spyglass finished before the Book of Dust comes out.

Never heard of those! what genre are they?

Fantasy. They’re the second and third books in His Dark Materials Trilogy, and it is the first fantasy series I really fell in love with. The first book in the trilogy – Northern Lights – was turned into a film (which they called the Golden Compass) and it was absolutely terrible.

You should. It’s a great trilogy. It’s probably getting more recognition at the moment due to the author releasing a new book after many years.

I have read Flame in the Mist and The Raven Boys and enjoyed them both.
Currently I am actually reading an e-galley for A Plague of Giants by Kevin Hearne and I am absolutely loving it.

Kevin Hearne is one of my favorite authors. His Iron Druid Chronicles are fantastic, and A Plague of Giants is the first book to his new epic fantasy series.

Will Grayson Will Grayson is such a sweet book! It is something you can breeze through but still feel like it was meaningful. I also love that two authors wrote different narratives. It makes it such a dynamic story! If it was written by just one author, I don’t think the book would be as wonderful! Also, please review Carry On. I have been meaning to read it since I read Fangirl but haven’t picked it up yet! Right now I just finished Into the Water and loved it!

Dawlyn: So glad to hear you enjoyed Will Grayson Will Grayson! We’ll be able to review Carry On once we’ve both read it! Krista is almost done with it and I hope to pick it up in October! I haven’t heard of Into the Water! I’ll have to look it up!
