Happy New Year (Most Anticipated 2019 Release)

Hey, Bookworms! Welcome to the first Calendar Girls Books of 2019! In case you don’t know what this is, it is an event that takes place on the first Monday of every month. Each month, a theme is voted on and you pick a book that fits this theme! This event was formerly hosted by, Flavia  @FlaviatheBibliophile and Melanie @MNBernard Books. The event is now hosted by Katie @NeverNotReading and Adrienne @DarqueDreamerReads. Head over to their blogs to find out more! We’re so excited to be participating in this discussion! This month’s theme is: Happy New Year (Most Anticipated Release of 2019). Let’s get started!

There are some great books set to be released this year so before we get into our pick, here are some honorable mentions:

Children of Virtue and Vengeance by: Tomi Adeyemi Release Date: March 5th, 2019

This is the second book in the Legacy of Orisha trilogy. We read the first book last year and even hosted a read-a-long for it! We loved it and can’t wait to read this one when it comes out!

The Princess and the Fangirl by: Ashley Poston Release Date: April 2, 2019

We read Geekerella by Ashley Poston last year and adored it, so we are beyond excited for the release of this companion novel!

In an Absent Dream by: Seanan McGuire Release Date: TOMORROW! (January 8th, 2019)

We devoured this series last year and can’t wait for this next installment!

Again, But Better Christine Riccio Release Date: May 7, 2019

Christine is one of our favorite booktubers, and we have been following her as she has been writing this book. We’re so excited that she is now a published author and we can’t wait to read her story!

Now for our pick…

On the Come Up by: Angie Thomas Release Date: February 5, 2019

We absolutely LOVE The Hate U Give! It was our favorite book of 2017, and is one of our favorite books of all time. We love Angie Thomas’ writing. She writes about real and relevant issues, and creates such lovable and relatable characters. We have been hype to meet Bri ever since Angie Thomas started talking about her and this story on social media, so we are beyond excited for this book. We are so glad that it is almost here!

Thanks so much for taking the time out to read our post! We’re so happy to be participating in the Calendar GIrls event and we look forward to hearing from others who are participating in it as well. Let us know if you’ve read this book and feel free to share links to your January Calendar Girls!
