Back to School (Best Book Set in School)

Hey, Bookworms! Welcome to September Calendar Girls Books. In case you don’t know what this is, it is an event that takes place on the first Monday of every month. Each month, a theme is voted on and you pick a book that fits this theme! This event was formerly hosted by, Flavia  @FlaviatheBibliophile and Melanie @MNBernard Books. The event is now hosted by Katie @NeverNotReading and Adrienne @DarqueDreamerReads. Head over to their blogs to find out more! We’re so excited to be participating in this discussion! This month’s theme is: Back to School (Best Book Set in School). Let’s get started!

Before we get into our pick, here are some honorable mentions:

Harry Potter by: J.K. Rowling. I mean, it’s Hogwarts.

Anna and the French Kiss by: Stephanie Perkins. A boarding school in Paris? Yes please!

Fangirl by: Rainbow Rowell and Easy by: Tammara Webber. Two of the few books we’ve read set in college!

Private by: Kate Brian. This series has a mix of drama, mystery, and even a little bit of paranormal all in the mist of one small, private boarding school! They were very addicting!

Now for our pick…

By Your SIde by: Kasie West. We both read this book last year and absolutely loved it! It has such an adorable romance and the first quarter of it leaves the man characters trapped inside of their school library! We love that this book is neither super light nor super heavy. It has a cute romance of course, but it also touches on some more serious topics such as foster care and anxiety. This was our first Kasie West book and it got us definitely wanting to read more from her! We would recommend this to anyone looking for a cute contemporary with some depth to it.

Thanks so much for taking the time out to read our post! We’re so happy to be participating in the Calendar GIrls event and we look forward to hearing from others who are participating in it as well. Let us know if you’ve read this book and feel free to share links to your September Calendar Girls!
