Goodreads Synopsis:

Anna is looking forward to her senior year in Atlanta, where she has a great job, a loyal best friend, and a crush on the verge of becoming more. Which is why she is less than thrilled about being shipped off to boarding school in Paris–until she meets Étienne St. Clair. Smart, charming, beautiful, Étienne has it all…including a serious girlfriend.

But in the City of Light, wishes have a way of coming true. Will a year of romantic near-misses end with their long-awaited French kiss?

Setting and plot:

We loved that this story was set in Paris, France. Even though the characters are in high school. the setting gives it a little bit of a different feel than the typical contemporary. We really enjoyed this story! The plot was quick, fun, and really sweet. We loved going on Anna’s journey with her as she found new friendships and relationships, and learned how to adapt in an unfamiliar place.

Characters:

We really enjoyed the characters in this story and the different friendships that were formed. We feel the situations that they they found themselves in are pretty relatable to what a lot of people deal with in high school.

Overall Thoughts

Dawlyn: I love this book! Krista challenged me to read it and I’m so glad she did because it got me out of an embarrassingly long reading slump! In my ranking of the 3 books in the series, this one places 3rd for me. I’d recommend this to anyone looking for a cute contemporary read!

Krista: I also really love this book! It was my first read of 2017, and it was such a great start to the year! I love the characters, the setting, and Stephanie Perkins’ writing style! I have been reading and will continue to read anything else Stephanie Perkins writes! I definitely recommend this book if you’re looking for a quick, cute, contemporary read!

  1. I’ve heard so many things about this book, both good and bad. I watched this one Youtube video about it that just slammed the whole book (it was like half an hour long) and after that I just had no desire whatsoever to read it (especially because it sounded like I would have all the same problems with it that she had). But, I do like seeing positive reviews for it too, and seeing what people liked about it. Great review!

  2. I feel like setting a romance novel in Paris is so overdone in theory and way too obvious, but it’s something I’ve never actually seen in a book. I’m absolutely dying to get my hands on this one.

Also can I just say that I love that this is two people running the blog? Friendship goals right here.
